FINANCIAL LITERACY

Fellows participate in financial literacy courses taught by industry leaders. E*TRADE Bank, Bank of America and Bank on DC are some of our partners who present their financial literacy curriculum to our Fellows. The content of the literacy courses introduces Fellows to saving and spending strategies, budgets, college financial literacy (e.g., loans, debt, scholarships, work study, saving) debt, credit, investing and many more banking and financial concepts.

The goal of financial literacy training is to help our Fellows develop a keen sense of the tools, resources, research and reasoning to understand how decisions about money can negatively or positively affect their lives. Fellows complete the financial literacy curriculum and visit financial institutions to get an up-close look at trading practices and students are even given an opportunity to trade during their visit.
